I shopped 3 dealerships in a 25 mile radius. I was deal shopping at first. I
homed in on a new '09 Sportster 1200 as my choice and did apples·to·apples comparisons on that model at the 3 dealerships.
I liked the people best at HD·Cool Springs from the get-go. I actually got a
better price at another dealer. Same exact dollars but on an '09 with 2-lone paint and the security system. a retail value of $870 ($500 for the
paint;S370 for the security system). I actually wanted all Black and the security system I felt I could live without---so I went with the folks I liked
best! Glad I did - see the next paragraph.
When my bike was delivered our garage began to smell like gasoline. At first we
thought it was just some spillage from jostling around in the trailer. But I eventually found a wet area bottom rear of the gas tank--VERY slow leaking-Abut
troubling. Went by HDCS next morning and told Don Witt. To make a long story short, Don was ALL OVER IT!!! Sent a Sr. Tech home with
me, young man nick-named Chap. Chap checked it out, then rode it back to HDCS. Within 3 hours it was back in my garage with a new gas
tank!! The tank had a microscopic crack in a weld. The guys said they'd never seen it before on a new bike.
Anybody can "talk the talk"---what
HOGS did is called ''walking the walk". I told Don and others at HOGS, I was going to brag on them so much, it would embarrass them!! I mean it too! My dealer gives a nice little break for a while on customizing parts and gear
and clothes for new owners. They have the local HOG chapter cooking burgers and dogs and creating a happenin' atmosphere on Saturdays--it was
actually one of those get- togethers that got me off the fence and seriously shopping!
EVERYONE at HDCS makes you feel like they're glad you're there---love going
there-so does my wife (although I never seem to leave without something I have to have $$).
I'm now a new member of the local HOG and the vets tell me the current
atmosphere and support of HOGS and of the HOG for HDCS starts with the new owner Scot Wall. I met him and spoke to him briefly---wishing HDCS all
the best.-.glad I bought my bike there!!
Scott sure has put together
an outstanding team of people. Treatment of customers AFTER the sale is what
makes or breaks a dealership. I've NEVER been treated poorly when BUYING something--have you? It's service and attitude down the road that really matters.
Keep doin' what yer doin' HDCSI...and I'll tell my friends to "skip the
shopping---just call Richard Oliver at HOGS, make the best deal you can
make...and RIDE"
